Salonak respects your privacy and processes personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are
Salonak operates a UK marketplace for at-home grooming services. For privacy enquiries: support@salonak.co.uk

2. Data we collect
• Account details: name, email, phone, postcode, profile photo
• Booking data: services, times, addresses, status, messages related to appointments, tips, and dispute records
• Dispute evidence: statements and photos you upload when opening or responding to a dispute
• Payment metadata: processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers
• Device data: push notification tokens, app diagnostics
• Location: only when you choose to share postcode or address for discovery and bookings
• Support and feedback: messages you send to our team
• Professional verification: documents, insurance details, and details submitted by providers

3. How we use your data
• To create and manage your account
• To match you with nearby professionals and businesses available for home service
• To process bookings, payments, refunds, tips, and reminders
• To send booking updates and messages you opt into
• To keep the platform safe (fraud prevention, verification, insurance checks, and dispute handling)
• To improve Salonak (analytics in aggregated or pseudonymised form where possible)
• To comply with legal obligations

4. Legal bases
We rely on contract, legitimate interests, consent (where required), and legal obligation as appropriate.

5. Sharing
We share data with professionals/businesses to fulfil bookings, with Stripe for payments, and with service providers who host or support the app. We do not sell your personal data.

6. Retention
We keep data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for legal, tax, and dispute resolution purposes. You may request deletion via Delete Account in the app, at https://salonak.co.uk/delete-account/, or by emailing support@salonak.co.uk (account deletion is blocked while open bookings remain).

7. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent for marketing at any time. You may complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). Contact support@salonak.co.uk to exercise your rights.

8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is 100% secure. Please use a strong password and keep it private.

9. Children
Salonak is not intended for users under 18.

10. International transfers
Data may be processed outside the UK with appropriate safeguards where required.

11. Changes
We will update this policy when practices change and note the "Last updated" date above.
